WiMCO Member Spotlight

An Interview with Molly Stephens, PMP, Project Manager / Application Engineer, Foley Power Solutions

How did you get involved in WiMCO?

James Kerschinske from Enercon used to work for Foley and introduced me to the WiMCO team.

If you could have a superpower what would it be, and why?

Invisibility. It would be nice to know sometimes what people are actually saying when you’re not there.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the industry?

If you don’t enjoy what you’re doing, find training and a mentor who is doing what you want to do. Or, propose a new role or find out where help is needed and present what you can offer to fill the need.

What is the biggest change you have seen in our industry?

Increasing data center capacity in existing facilities while being more energy efficient is the biggest trend. It is certainly challenging from a design and engineering perspective.

How long have you been in the industry?

Over 18 years supplying prime, continuous, mission critical and emergency standby power solutions including combined heat recovery options, solar arrays and battery and capacitive energy storage solutions. I used to be a software engineer and project manager for a local telecom too.

Who is your favorite role model and why?

My parents, because they are both hardworking people who put themselves through school and worked their way up. They didn’t have easy lives and nothing was handed to them.

If you were a cartoon character, who would you be and why?

Roadrunner. Wile E. Coyote was supposedly a super genius but could never catch the Roadrunner no matter what tools he purchased. In real life, Roadrunners are pretty tough and fast little birds that survive in the desert and I like to be tough and self-sufficient too.

What is your walk-up theme song?

AC/DC Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
