WiMCO Member Spotlight

An Interview with Brittany Aswegan, Project Manager, The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company

How did you get involved with WiMCO?

I have been attending the 7X24 events for a few years in Kansas City. I was introduced to WiMCO in 2023 but not involved, then I met Samantha at the golf tournament last year and connected through her.

What advice would you give to a new professional in the industry?

Ask questions and be a sponge. If you don’t know the answer to something that’s OK, research or find someone who does and learn from them, the worst thing to do is do nothing.

Who inspires you?

Jason Barnes – he approaches challenges with grace, determination, and resilience. He has shown me the importance of being present and engaged and focusing on what truly matters. His kindness is a powerful influence, he treats everyone with respect and compassion. Together these qualities have inspired growth in all aspects of my life.

What's your favorite quote or mantra that you live by?

“Like a duck”
